Syttende Mai and the History of Norwegian Architechture in Wisconsin

(Seventeenth of May) is Norway's Independence Day. To recognize that event, the Island Heritage Conservancy is sponsering a talk at the Recreation Center, 7 PM, Alan Pape slide presentation on the History of Norwegian Architecture in Wisconsin

Alan Pape:

Alan Pape is a landscape architect and historical preservationist. He has located, moved and restored more than 100 pioneer structures. He was one of the original developers of Old World Wisconsin. He is nationally recognized as an expert on the restoration of Scandinavian heritage buildings.

He is currently consulting on the restoration of the Hans Hansen home in Sturgeon Bay for the Door County Historical Society. He is working with Washinton Island for the Washington Island Heritage Conservancy to develop a restoration plan for the Veblen Study Cabin
